Return to second show following success at the launch event

22 August 2022

Following a particularly successful first Space-Com Expo, Silicon Sensing Systems returns to the show this year, on 7th – 8th September, showcasing inertial measurement technology developed specifically for the space market.

Darioosh Naderi, Business Development Manager, Silicon Sensing comments: “We look forward to returning to the second Space-Comm Expo. Last year a number of important orders resulted from our participation in this exciting new event, and we are confident we will explore many new and promising applications and progress more discussions at the 2022 exhibition.”

Each of the company’s high performance, non-ITAR MEMS (micro electro-mechanical systems) products offers an alternative to equivalent, but far heavier and less robust, fibre optic or dynamically tuned gyro-based devices. Each offers ultra-reliable, sustained performance wherever space and power are at a premium and the operational environment is at its most severe.

The company’s latest developments include the DMU41 9 degrees of freedom (DoF) inertial measurement unit (IMU). This is the highest performing silicon IMU available on the market today. Compact and with low power consumption, this unit is ideally suited to the sustained, precision performance needs of small satellite market.

Alongside the DMU41 and developed to suit the high impact and vibration environments found in applications such as satellite launch vehicles, is the IMU20 - a 6 DoF IMU offering excellent dynamic range in a highly ruggedised package.

Also on display will be a new stand-alone gyro, the CRH03. This is a miniature, single axis device delivering precise inertial sensing performance that is stable over time and temperature. Small, lightweight, and rugged, with low power consumption and proven performance.

These Silicon Sensing products are based around the company’s proven, unique, resonating ring gyroscopes, with the company’s market-leading accelerometers also installed in the IMUs. All deliver excellent angle random walk, bias instability and low noise performance combined with high shock survivability. Silicon Sensing’s engineering team can tailor the performance of each device to meet individual operational needs and most are available as either an OEM or packaged unit.
