Product showcase at ION GNSS+
12 September 2022
At ION GNSS+ this month Silicon Sensing will promote its market-leading inertial sensors and systems expertise. The company’s range of products, from tiny, low cost, navigation and pointing gyros through to compact, tactical grade, 9 degrees of freedom inertial measurement units (IMUs), will be on display, with representatives available to discuss new opportunities and applications throughout the event.
Silicon Sensing’s range of robust, ultra-reliable MEMS inertial products is suited to diverse applications across many market sectors - from defence to industrial robotics, agriculture to aerospace. Tens of millions of sensors have been delivered to customers around the world, with each product based around the company’s unique, patented MEMS gyro design and every sensor manufactured in their foundry in Japan.
Darioosh Naderi, Head of Business Development at Silicon Sensing comments: “Silicon Sensing is home to some of the leading minds in inertial technology, MEMS (micro electro-mechanical systems) and foundry processes. Our engineering team has the dual focus of both extending the performance boundaries of silicon MEMS technology and, simultaneously, minimising unit size and weight.”
Naderi continues: “Independent analysis shows that in critical areas, such as bias instability and angle random walk, our latest products are achieving performance equivalent to larger, heavier, and far more costly FOG-based units. This is bringing precise, sustained inertial measurement to applications that are more compact, have less available power or must operate for prolonged periods in the most severe environments.”
